Gabor Bardoczi
Forever In Our Hearts
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Gabor Bardoczi, of Regina, SK on Monday, February 5, 2024 at age 93 years.
Born in Hajduszoboszlo, Hungary on January 7, 1931, he fled Hungary in 1956 to start a new life in Canada. He started his career at SaskPower, where he worked for 37 years, and had his hand in building Boundry Dam near Estevan, SK where he met and married the love of his life Dianne Fuller on July 30, 1960.
They together had a long, loving marriage of 64 years. My fondest memory is of the two of them dancing in the kitchen to the "The Log Drivers Waltz". He was outgoing and friendly to all he met and we could never go anywhere without him running into someone he knew (no matter what country we were in). In his free time, he would often be found at the outdoor rink at Grant Road school where he spent many hours playing hockey. Always loving the outdoors, he spent as much time as he could outside in the sun, doing crazy dives at Massey Pool, or rollerblading, cycling, playing badminton, hunting and fishing. If he wasn't outside he was in his garage tinkering on cars or fixing any number of things. He was very happy to be Canadian and loved his life here.
He is survived by his loving wife Dianne; daughter Gina Boyko; son Ryan; grandsons Michael and Matthew; and brothers Gyula and Marika of Budapest.
